Mutual Funds - Manulife Global Fund

1.

How to open a Manulife Global Fund account?

You can open a Manulife Global Fund account the following ways:
(1) In Person: Please read the “Manulife Global Fund Information Package” and submit  the following 6 documents to our Customer Service Center at 31/F, Manulife Tower, 169 Electric Road, North Point, Hong Kong:
(i) “Manulife Global Fund Account Opening Form (enclosed at the end of the Manulife Global Fund Information Package”)
(ii) Risk Profile Questionnaire for Investors in Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds
(iii) Suitability Check Table – Manulife Global Fund
(iv) Payment (Please refer to the Account Opening Form for details of payment method. Third party and cash payment is not acceptable. Proof of source of payment is required.)
* By Cheque: A crossed cheque in HKD or USD payable to “CITIBANK NA HK BRANCH – MGF A/C”; or
* By HK CHATS/Telegraphic Transfer (TT): Please provide Remittance advice (please write down the investor’s name, HKID/Passport number or Shareholder number on it); or
(Note: For payment by remittance, the subscription will be processed upon confirmation of receipt of payment by the Fund Administrator and completed application is received.)
* By Cheque Deposit Over Citibank Counter: Bank pay-in slip (please write down the investor’s name, HKID/Passport number or Shareholder number on it) and cheque copy (if cheque issuer’s name is not printed on cheque, bank statement may serve as proof)
(v) A certified true copy of your HKID/Passport
(vi) A certified true copy of address proof (within last 3 months) if investment is at least or exceeds HKD200,000
Service Hours:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Closed on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday
For overseas applicants, please submit the above 6 documents to Manulife with duly completed “Third Party Certification” (please refer to the back page of Account Opening Form for details) by mail.
(2) Financial Advisor: Please contact your financial advisor to open a Manulife Global Fund account

2.

What is the dealing cut-off time for Manulife Global Fund? When will my investment order be processed?

* The dealing cut-off time is 4:00 pm Hong Kong time of each dealing day, which is Monday to Friday except on Hong Kong and/or Luxembourg public holidays.
* If all the required documents/payment are received by the dealing cut-off time at 4:00 pm Hong Kong time, your order will normally be processed at the same dealing day’s price.

How is subsequent subscription done? What is the minimum subsequent subscription amount?

Please complete the “Manulife Global Fund – Subsequent Subscription Form” and submit to Manulife with payment (Please click here for details of payment method). If submit by fax, please do not mail the original copy after fax to avoid duplication of trade.

* The minimum subsequent subscription amount is HKD1,000 per fund for both A shares and AA shares.

4.

How is switching or redemption done?

Please complete the “Switching Request Form” or “Redemption Request Form”, as appropriate, and submit to Manulife. If you submit by fax, please note:

* With fax option: Please do not mail the original copy after fax to avoid duplication of trade.
* Without fax option: Please submit the original copy after fax and mark “Follow up document” on the original copy to avoid duplication of trade.
For switching, you can switch your funds within same class only, i.e. Class A to Class A or Class AA to Class AA. If you wish to transfer your funds across classes, it will be served as redemption and subsequent subscription orders, details as below:
* Redemption fee of 1% will be applied on the redemption proceeds from the redeemed A shares which were subscribed within 2 years.
*

The subsequent subscription will be subject to the following minimum investment requirement:
   A Shares  AA Shares

* The subsequent subscription of AA shares will be subject to initial charge (up to 5%).
* The subsequent subscription will be processed one dealing day later than the redemption.

5.

What is the minimum switching/redemption amount?

* The minimum switching/redemption amount per fund is HKD1,000.
* After switching/redemption, a minimum balance per fund is required:
A shares: The minimum balance per fund is USD200,000.
AA shares: The minimum balance per fund is HKD20,000.
If a request for partial redemption will result in a residual holding of less than the minimum initial subscription, such redemption request will be deemed to be a request to redeem the entire shareholding.

What is the redemption fee?

A shares:

* Redemption fee is 1% of redemption proceeds if such redemption is made within 2 years of the date of their respective subscription.
* No redemption fee after 2 years of the date of their respective subscription.
Redemption fee will be deducted from the redemption amount.
AA shares:
* No redemption fee will be imposed

7. How long will it take to make redemption payment for Manulife Global Fund?
Payment will normally be made within 5 business days (in any event not more than 30 days) upon receiving all the required documents. You can select the payment in HKD or USD.
* For cheque payment, the cheque will normally be sent out within 5 business days after the redemption date by registered mail.
* For payment by money transfer to your designated bank account, remittance will normally be made within 5 business days after the redemption date. If any bank charges incurred to redemption payment, it will be borne by the shareholder.

8. Can I invest in the form of a monthly savings plan? When is the debit day and investment day of the monthly savings plan?
* When or after making an initial investment, you can join our monthly savings plan, Manulife Direct Saver, by completing the “Manulife Direct Saver Application Form” and the “Manulife Global Fund Account Opening Form”(both enclosed at the end of the “Manulife Global Fund Information Package”), and submit to Manulife.
* The monthly savings plan, Manulife Direct Saver, is only available for shareholder who holds Hong Kong dollar bank account with bank in Hong Kong.
* The minimum direct debit amount is HKD1,000 per month per fund.
* It generally takes 4 – 6 weeks to set up the direct debit authorization. The first debit day will normally be in the 2nd month after your application.  For example, the application is submitted in Feb 08, the first debit day will be in Apr 08.  The debit day is on the 2nd business day of each month and the investment day is on the 7th business day of each month.

9. How can I change monthly investment amount or subscription allocation of/
suspend/cancel Manulife Direct Saver? When will the change be effective?
Please complete the “Direct Saver Updating Form” and submit to Manulife.
* With fax option: Please do not mail the original copy after fax to avoid duplication.
* Without fax option: Fax copy is not acceptable. Please submit by mail.
If your instruction is received by 4:00 pm of the last business day of the month, the change will be effected in the following month (provided that the new debit limit does not exceed the limit of your bank account).

10. What is the dealing cut-off time for Manulife Investment Solutions? When will my investment order be processed?
The dealing cut-off time is 3:00 pm Hong Kong time of each dealing day, which is Monday to Friday except on Hong Kong public holidays.
Subscription

If all the required documents/payment are received by the dealing cut-off time at 3:00 pm Hong Kong time, your order will normally be processed within 5 business days.

Switching and Redemption

If all the required documents are received by the dealing cut-off time at 3:00 p.m Hong Kong time, your order will normally be processed at the same dealing day’s price.

11. How is subsequent subscription done? What is the minimum subsequent subscription amount?
* Please complete the “Manulife Investment Solutions Fund Services Form” and submit to Manulife with a crossed cheque/bank draft in HKD or USD payable to “Manulife (International) Limited”.  For payment by bank draft, a bank receipt to show the payment from own account should be attached.
* The minimum subsequent subscription amount is USD1,500 per Policy and USD250 per Fund.

12.

What is the difference between "Fund Switch" and "Allocation Instruction Change of Future Investment"?

“Fund Switch” applies to existing funds only, whereas “Allocation Instruction Change of Future Investment” applies to all monies received on or after the effective date of instruction for policies with regular subscription. If you intend to make both fund switch and allocation instruction change of future investment, please submit both types of instruction separately.

13. How is switching done? 

You may make a fund switch the following ways:

(1) Internet: Visit www.manulife.com.hk and login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID/Passport Number and PIN. Select “Wealth Management” at top, then click “Fund Switch” at the left and submit instruction online (Click here to view the online service guide).
(2) Fax in: Complete the “Manulife Investment Solutions/Manulife Secure IncomePlus Policy Change/Fund Services Form (By Fax)” and submit by fax.
(3) Mail in: Complete the “Manulife Investment Solutions Fund Services Form” and submit by mail.
Please do not submit the same instruction via multiple channels to avoid confusion and duplication.

14. How is allocation instruction change of regular subscription done?
You may change allocation instruction of regular subscription the following ways:
(1) Internet: Visit www.manulife.com.hk and login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID/Passport Number and PIN. Select “Wealth Management” at top, then click “Allocation Instruction Change of Future Investment” at the left and submit instruction online (Click here to view the online service guide).
(2) Mail in: Complete the “Manulife Investment Solutions Fund Services Form” and submit by mail.
Please do not submit the same instruction via multiple channels to avoid confusion and duplication.

15. What is the minimum amount for switching/regular subscription/
redemption?
* The minimum switching amount from one Fund to another Fund is USD250.
* The minimum regular subscription amount is USD500 per Policy and USD250 per Fund.
* The minimum redemption amount is USD1,000 per Policy.
* After partial switching/redemption, a minimum Account Value of USD1,500 per Fund and a minimum Policy Value of USD5,000 is required.

16. What is the redemption fee?

For subscription of less than 5 years, early redemption fee will be imposed as per below table. Early redemption fee does not apply to subscription made more than 5 years ago. Early redemption fee will be deducted from the redemption amount.

Years will be measured from the actual date of a subscription. Early redemption fee will be applied to the earliest subscription first (first in first out basis).  Fund switch will not affect the age of the subscription such that the same first in first out basis will apply to the switching transactions accordingly.

17. How is partial redemption/full surrender done? How long will it take to make redemption payment?
You may make a partial redemption/full surrender the following ways:
Partial Redemption
(1) Fax in: Complete the “Manulife Investment Solutions/Manulife Secure IncomePlus Policy Change/Fund Services Form (By Fax)” and submit by fax.
(2) Mail in: Complete the “Manulife Investment Solutions Fund Services Form” and submit to Manulife by mail.
Please attach a copy of policyowner's Smart HKID card/Passport/Business Registration Certificate and state the policy number(s) on the attached copy.
Full Surrender
Complete the “Manulife Investment Solutions Fund Services Form” and submit to Manulife by mail with your Policy Contract and a copy of policyowner's Smart HKID card/Passport/Business Registration Certificate. Please state the policy number(s) on the attached copy.

Payment will normally be made within 7 business days (in any event not more than 30 days) upon receiving all the required documents. You may select the payment by HKD or USD cheque.
